Ellen Stoddard

Ellen joined the governing board in December, 2022. She was born in California and attended public schools, enrolling at University of Santa Barbara (UCSB) after high school. After USCB, she realized that the classes she wanted were found at SBCC, and she enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program there, finding her life's calling. She matriculated to Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA,  where she received a BA and an MA in Human Development and a California teaching credential. She was the SBCC parent education instructor and director at the Lou Grant Parent-Child Workshop for 29 years and was awarded the faculty excellence award in 2015. She has lived on the Santa Barbara Mesa for almost 45 years, and loves to garden.
