Orfalea Early Learning Center @ SBCC is the childcare center for Santa Barbara City College. Priority for enrollment is to serve student parents, staff and faculty. The center is also a lab school for the training of SBCC students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Department. For fiscal year 2022/2023, OELC serves children 2 to 5 years or age or until they enter kindergarten.

FINANCIAL AID
Financial Aid helps students apply for federal and state funding to help them pay for College. Eligibility requirements vary depending on the type of aid. Reach out to our Financial Aid department to get started.

SBCC has two private, clean, safe and comfortable lactation rooms. The lactation rooms are accessible to any SBCC student or employee and are expressly intended to serve as convenient, private and comfortable spaces where parents can express breast milk or nurse while at work or attending class.
The West Campus lactation room is located on the main floor of the Luria Library. Students and staff can get the key to the room from the Librarian at the Reference/Information desk (service counter in the middle of the main floor).
The East Campus lactation room is new and located in ECOC-1 Room 18. The East Campus Lactation Room can only be accessed via key code. The keycode can be requested through one the following locations:

- Center for Equity and Social Justice (Campus Center 228; ext. 4377)

SBCC students who are parents with dependent children under age 18 may qualify for priority registration in the future! Priority registration for parenting students is estimated to be in place for the Spring 2024 semester, pursuant to state legislation.

Santa Barbara MTD is our local public bus service. All SBCC students pay a transportation fee with tuition which provides a bus pass that is valid for travel throughout the school terms. Students will use their Santa Barbara City College ID as their bus pass. To obtain your campus ID card from the Office of Student Life.
